The government, through the Ministry of Education, has completed processes to construct 300-bed hostel blocks in all 45 colleges of education.

The project is funded by the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) and is on schedule to start across the country next month.

The PRO of the Ministry of Education, Mr. Kwasi Kwarteng, wrote on his Facebook that the project was an initiative of the government through the Ministry and its agency, the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) and Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund).

“As part of the Government’s Education Reforms, all public Colleges of Education have been converted/upgraded into 4-year Bachelor of Education degree awarding institutions. This has necessitated the need to expand facilities to accommodate the increased number of students and improve teaching and learning as well.”

“ The Government through the Ministry of Education (MOE) and its agencies Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) and Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) has embarked on Construction of 3-Storey 300-bed capacity Hostel Blocks in 45 Colleges of Education across the Country.”
